This program focuses on coaching applications of the Cape Cod Model, a specific intervention technique that supports the individual’s own competencies and ability to move towards change, and is designed for both clinically and organizationally trained people either working as coaches or considering moving into coaching. The program features: supervised practice with actual clients, opportunities to discuss how working with an individual is similar to and different from working with a system, exploration and expansion of the ways you use yourself in the coaching process, and opportunities to discuss your challenging coaching cases. In the context of applying the Cape Cod Model in a one-on-one setting, participants will clarify their understanding of the role of a coach, how coaching is different than therapy, the coach’s relationship with an organization, and how to determine whether someone needs more than coaching.
