An Introduction to the Cape Cod Model in Action
GISC's Unique Approach to Intervening with Couples, Families and Organizations
Presented Jointly by:
Gestalt International Study Center and
The Gestalt Therapy Institute of Philadelphia (GTIP)
Location: Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work & Social Research
The Cape Cod Model is a unique, optimistic and accessible Gestalt approach to working with couples, families and small groups. Carol Brockmon, ACSW and Stuart Simon, LICSW, core faculty members of GISC’s Cape Cod Model Training Program (Wellfleet, Cape Cod), introduced key concepts and skills of this exciting model in previous workshop in March of 2007. Participants have enthusiastically asked for more. In response we have designed a workshop to present our model in action. The workshop will include the principles taught previously:
- seeing a system as a growth-oriented organism
- observing the phenomenology of competence
- developing strategies for use of self
- confidence that awareness leads to growth
in a format that emphasizes real time practice of the model. Demonstration will be emphasized with client models along with case consultation on clinical, organizational and classroom dilemmas. Those who attended the 2007 workshop are welcome, as are others with an interest in this unique approach.
This workshop is limited to 30 Participants. Pre-registration is required.
